I am an author, educator and entomologist writing fantasy, science fiction, poetry and non-fiction for children and adults. My award-winning short stories have most recently appeared in the magazines Thema, Aurealis and The Fabulist, and in the anthologies Pause, Fission #4, Magic Portals and Aftermath. I've published over fifteen books, including a series of middle grade fantasy novels infested with dragons, three lighthearted urban fantasies, an epic YA fantasy series, a book of poetry, and some rather more serious non-fiction about insects.

1. At age 10, I was a featured guest poet on the television show, Christopher's Magic Cocoon.
2. I once delivered two goat kids during a dinner party I was a hosting for some visiting scientists.
3. I hate clothes shopping so much, I make all my clothes myself.
