After playing guitar for a very long time in various bands I caught the writing bug. Much to my surprise, some success contributing to BBC radio sketch shows led to a comedy book being commissioned by a mainstream publisher.
Now, when not writing and (still) guitaring, I can be found on the golf course where you will not see me wearing lime-green trousers, yellow polo shirt and red flat cap. This is because I'm not a stock character from a 1970s sitcom.
