Who Blew My Cover?
Book covers are always fraught subjects. Should the author have cover approval – or should it be a decision for the marketing folk – it is, after all, part of the packaging. Our special guest Philippa Ballantine (checking in from New Zealand, where it’s barely seven o’clock in the morning) has some decided views on the subject. And a welcome return to our other special guest, Martyn Daniels, the publishing industry’s equivalent of Sir Alan Sugar (that’s Donald Trump for you transatlantic types). Martyn is exercised about the stealthy way in which some publishers are apparently ignoring contracts and taking rights that are not properly theirs – listen and learn, authors!
Donna Ballman wonders how relaxed we all are about tenses, and Dave Bartram‘s got some astute observations about Fry’s Digital delights – listen to find out. With the ebullient Eve Harvey doing chatroom duty, there’s nothing more you could wish for. Apart, that is, from this Sunday’s OPEN HOUSE – it’s your show, open for you to call in and chat to Peter – full details here.
