Fabulous Female Fiction Writers (With Character)
It’s a truly exceptional show ce soir; inasmuch as we have three celebrated guest panellists at the top of their game… all of them exceptional writers. Megan Abbott is the Edgar-winning author of the novels Die a Little, The Song Is You, Queenpin and Bury Me Deep, which was nominated for six awards: the 2010 Edgar Award, Hammett Prize, the Macavity, Anthony and Barry Awards and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Her latest novel, The End of Everything, has just been published.
British writer Dorothy Koomson is another inspiring phenomenon: her first book, The Cupid Effect, was published in 2003; by the time her third book (My Best Friend’s Girl) was published in 2006, Dorothy was selling over half a million copies! Her current title, The Woman He Loved Before, is already barnstorming up the charts.
MJ Rose is a name that has passed into internet folklore – she became the first writer to successfully self-publish a novel (Lip Service) which then went on to be snapped up by a mainstream New York publishing house (and was also chosen by the LiteraryGuild/Doubleday Book Club). She is a founding member and board member of International Thriller Writers and the founder of the first marketing company for authors: AuthorBuzz.com. She runs two popular blogs; Buzz, Balls & Hype and Backstory.
All this together with Dave Bartram, Donna Ballman and Wordsmith in the chatroom! Were you there? Well, if you weren’t – at least you can listen to the recording, here. But…don’t miss out next week!
