Concurrent with this week’s unearthing of space invaders in a Californian pond, Litopia After Dark tonight announces the discovery of alien life even closer to home… we call them politicians. Intent on inflicting widespread cultural vandalism by murdering our libraries, homo politicus threatens our way of life every bit as much as terrorists or even slimey alien pond scum. Eve Harvey calls on all Litopians to join the Campaign to save Britain’s Libraries – and to keep them far away from the greedy, self-aggrandizing clutches of our lords and heterochthonous masters.
Our special guest tonight, polymath Brian Clegg, ponders tokenism… Donna Ballman ponders the advantages of censorship… and Dave Bartram ponders whether writing a book renders you incapable of ever pleasurably reading one again.
It’s a snowy night all over Britain – but although it’s cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey, the wits are on fire and the humor is positively incandescent – do join us!
Remember to catch this Sunday’s OPEN HOUSE – it’s your show, open for you to call in and chat to Peter – full details here. And do join us live in the Litopia After Dark chatroom next week – here!
