The BBC has provided the world – yes, the world – with outstanding radio drama for 75 years. Yet as of the 1st of April 2011, the BBC’s World Service Radio Drama department is being completely axed – and shockingly, the BBC World Service will no longer broadcast any regular drama.
This essential betrayal of the BBC’s primary mandate – to provide preeminent public service broadcasting – is as short-sighted as it is wrong-headed, and it’s the topic of tonight’s OPEN HOUSE.

We couldn’t do it without you, and that’s the truth. You really do keep us on the air.
If you value truly independent broadcasting – not beholden to special interest groups, the curse of political correctness or some nefarious media baron – then please support us now.
Here are our goals…
Goal #1: We Go Weekly!
We’d love to be with you more often than once a month. But every show needs a lot of time to prepare… Our first goal is to produce a top-quality show every week – please help us get there!
Goal #2: We Go Video!
Wouldn’t it be nice to see our guests? Video will add a new dimension to what we do (and yes, we’ll always have top-quality audio available, too).
Goal #3: We Go On The Road!
Help LAD get off our tushies and produce some of the best location shows you’ve ever heard. We can do it – with your help!
You can cancel at any time (but we hope you won’t!). And thank you – your kind patronage truly makes all the difference.
