I believe this. There's a strong element of it couldn't be worse than last year, of course, in that my wife and our youngest daughter both endured health crises that were scary as hell. But that was then and this is now, and I believe this is going to be a good year.

I don't know ... maybe as I get older I realize how fleeing life is. I find myself shying away from discussions of politics, wars, and conspiracies. Is it naivety? Maybe. Or perhaps it's simply that I've seen so many things come full circle that I don't understand the point in arguing about them...

As I ponder resolutions which seem so easily broken, I set myself a new tack.

What if, instead of a huge resolution list, I were to select one thing, one small thing to improve daily for a month. Given the short time limit, even I could achieve such a goal. It takes away the-endless-...
